Woolgoolga is nominated in the North Coast Regional Plan (NSW Department of Planning and Environment 2017) as a ‘Centre’. The growth of centres are to be integrated with that of the regional cities by reinforcing transport and other links. The plan states  ‘centres provide jobs and services such as shopping, dining, health and personal services to meet the daily and weekly needs of the local community’.

Council sees the Woolgoolga Town Centre playing a pivotal role in the ongoing growth and development of the Woolgoolga and Northern Beaches locality, through the creation of economic, social and cultural opportunities

A core objective of the project is to achieve broad community and business acceptance. This means that it has been necessary to seek close involvement of all people during the preparation of the Masterplan.

Council at its Ordinary Meeting of 11 May 2017 resolved to publicly exhibit the draft Woolgoolga Town Centre Masterplan for a minimum period of 28 days.

The draft Masterplan was placed on public exhibition from Wednesday, 17 May 2017 to Friday, 16 June 2017.  The draft Masterplan and associated Traffic and Parking Study can be viewed HERE.

Council is currently in the Review stage of the process which involves detailed review and analysis of submissions made during the public exhibition period. Following this analysis a revised Masterplan will be reported back to Council addressing the issues raised by submissions.
